I am having some issues trying to use my Hyper-V virtual machines. When I try to start them, the following error alert pops out:

Machine_name failed to start

Machine_name failed to start
Unable to allocate N of RAM: insufficient system resources to complete the request service (0x800705AA)

Does it mean that I have insufficient RAM? My machine has 4 GB. Do I need to add more? Please help me fix this.

Hi Grant,

When you run Hyper-V Server through a RDP and forgot to logout into session for RDP to the management server Operating System of Hyper-V, It consumes an increase then a large amount of RAM is used. You can also resolve this issue by disabling a .exe file in your system. If GooglecrashHandler.exe is active on your system, just disable this Google background program.

Hope this information will resolve your problem.

The cause of this error is if there is not enough free memory on the Hyper-V host to support the minimum memory requirements configured for the VDI.

As a solution, you need to add more memory to the Hyper-V host. To do this, you need to edit the VDI properties in the vWorkspace management console. This will lower the minimum memory requirements of the VDI, which will enable to start the Hyper-V host.
