Unable to try out a JavaScript code

Hi all,

I used Chrome’s beta version for Mac to try out a JavaScript code I created, but it won’t open my code.

Instead, it gave me an error “The document “testing.html” could not be opened.

Chrome cannot open files in the “HTML document” format.” How do I get Chrome to open an HTML file?

Waiting to hear from you.

Thank you.

By default, Spotlight indexes the content of your hard drive, filenames, file contents, folders and even email messages, but it only do it in your hard drive and not to your external drives connected to your computer, that’s why you encounter this. For you to solve this problem please follow these simple steps.

1. Click System Preferences -> Spotlight -> Privacy tab

2. Drag your entire external volume to the list.

3. Then remove your volume you just added to the list.

4. Then now it will be ok, it will now re-index contents that you dragged into the lists.

Hope this helped.
