Unable to uninstall OpenDS application

Hi,

 

Last night I tried to uninstall OpenDS but I was fail to uninstall because an error comes up. I tried to uninstall again today but the result was same. You can see the error message in the attached image. What should I do now? Is there any idea to resolve this? Let me know please.

Hi

Kindly mention which windows you are using?if you are using windows 7 go to Task Manager on top tabs click on services button and Start services name starts from windows and then try to uninstall this application.

Hi Jim,

Usually the opends uninstall easily uninstall and remove the directory server from the system, but for windows platforms, at times the uninstaller gets failed to remove files as in your case.

You have an option of removing it with the help of windows-service.bat. what you have to do is –

Type the service name which you want to remove for example :- C:> windows-service –cleanupService serviceName then restart the windows to complete the cleanup.

Unable to uninstall OpenDS application

As my personal experience, I have seen that "Orbit Uninstaller" is the prefect software for uninstalling any type of software. In fact, you can see that some applications like OpenDS creates major problems. At the same time, windows faces bad effects. So, I like to suggest you use "Orbit Uninstaller" so that you can easily remove backdated software with cleaning registry without any hassle. Best of luck!
