When I sync my iPod Touch to my computer, it keeps telling me that there is an update available for download. When I try to update it while it is still connected with the PC, it doesn’t work. If I try to unplug my iPod, it states that my software is up to date. As far as I know, iOS 5.0.1 is already out so I really need to update my iPod. How can I do this? And also, how can I sync the contacts in my phone book via iCloud? Any help will do. Thank you.

Unable to Update iPod Touch to iOS 5
If your iTunes reported that your iPod Touch is already updated, the software or your iTunes mean it. Â The IOS update depends on your iPod version or Generation. The latest iPod Touch or the iPod Touch 4th Generation uses the iOS 5. Here is the list of iOS support for each generation of the iPod Touch.
1st Generation supports from iOS 1.1 to iOS 3.1.3
2nd Generation supports iOS 2.1.1 (iOS 3.1.1 for 8GB MC Model) to iOS 4.2.1
3rd Generation supports iOS 3.1.1 to iOS 5.0.1
4th Generation supports iOS 4.1 (for 2010 release and iOS 5.0 for 2011 release) to iOS 5.0.1

Hi there user:
You stated that your unit was updated already, your PC and iPod Touch is different even if you synchronized them. If your iPod touch software was updated, then no need to update it. Also I have to remind you that if you would want to make an update, make sure you have the correct site, so you can avoid being forfeited.
And for iCloud, register and Sign-in. You can set up your iCloud by checking the box of each feature you want to sync. (Mail Notes, Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, Documents and Data, etc.) Now start synchronizing.
Best regards,
Â
