Apparently the leaked out images out Sony Xperia ST21i from a Greek site techblog brought out surprise to everyone since the much talked about is twice as better as the other Xperia models that Sony has released. information regarding this had stated that the release of the said product (Sony Xperia ST21i) has not been clarified and no date release was given. A lot of people have been waiting in tow for the release of this new smartphone from the XPeria family of Sony. This model of Sony Xperia was unveiled to the public in June 2012 and released after just 2 months. The Sony Xperia tipo is also known in other names as Sony ST21a, Sony ST21i, and Sony Tapioca. It supports the usual network types 2G and 3G and fits in a mini-SIM. It measures 103 x 57 x 13 millimeters and weighs 99.4 grams or about 3.49 ounces.
It has a TFT capacitive touchscreen display with 256K colors at 320 x 480 pixels screen resolution. Unlike other brands that support 16 million colors, this one only supports 256 thousand colors. The screen is protected by a scratch-resistant glass. It supports multitouch that can handle up to 2 fingers, 3.5-millimeter jack, microSD expandable up to 32 GB, and 2.9 GB internal storage running on 512 MB RAM.
The 2.9 GB internal storage, 2.5 GB of it is available to user. It has microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Wi-Fi hotspot. The primary camera supports 3.15 megapixels at 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution that features geo-tagging and can do VGA video recording. Unfortunately, this unit doesn’t support a secondary camera.
It runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich powered by Qualcomm MSM7225AA chipset with 800 MHz Cortex-A5 processor and Adreno 200 GPU. It supports proximity and accelerometer sensors only. For internet browsing, it supports HTML and Adobe Flash as well as Java through Java MIDP emulator. It has a built-in GPS with A-GPS support.
It is powered by a removable Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery. It has a standby time of up to 470 hours on 2G and 545 hours on 3G while talk time is up to 5 hours on 2G and 4 hours 30 minutes on 3G. It is able to play music up to 30 hours and can be purchased for around 90 Euros. It receives positive feedbacks from users who are already using it though it’s not a fast handset unlike other brands like Samsung Galaxy S series and others.
