Hi,
I am having an issue with my Microsoft Outlook 2003. I got an email, but unfortunately, it was unreadable. I am seeing several characters as below:
*10&37,
I do not know what kind of email app my friend is using and I cannot think of any other way to fix this.
Help!
Thanks folks.
Unreadable characters in Outlook issue
The reason for your problem may be that the sender used such an e-mail program that did not mark the message with a language encoding i.e. character set. To resolve this problem and to read the message, set the encoding in Outlook that will display your message correctly. One thing to note this encoding will be applied to only body.
Now set the language encoding by the following procedure only to e-mail messages in HTML or plain text format.
  1. Open the e-mail message that you want to read.
  2. On the View menu, point to Encoding, and then click the encoding that you want to use.
  3. After you finish reading the message, close the message, and then click Yes to save the changes.
After making the following changes your characters will be readable.
