Hi,
Upgrading you Internet Explorer 8 to Internet Explorer 9 will still recognize your favorites and bookmarks of your Internet Explorer 8, since it uses the same location. But the settings will have a difference, due to upgrade version. Basic functionality is the same as Internet Explorer 8 but new features are additional.
In case you do not want to take the risk in losing your favorites and bookmarks, you can copy and paste it manually.

Yes, it will keep all of your favorites, bookmarks, and settings.
You can download the full standalone version (but not offline installer) of Internet Explorer 9 from this link.
You can download Internet Explorer 9 in the language that matches your version of Windows or choose the English version.
Hope this will help.
Hi Emy,
All your favorites, browsing and download history, caches, bookmarks and other settings like saved passwords will be retained upon updating or upgrading your Internet Explorer browser version 9 to IE 10. The home page will be retained too.
The only thing that happens during upgrading a browser to a new version is the incorporation of the new features that were not in the old version of the browser and during this process your data in the browser is not affected.
Upgrading to a new browser comes with a lot of advantages in that the security features have been advanced and it is always better than the predecessor version.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Download and install the latest version of IE9 from Microsoft and the Internet Explorer will update automatically. Yes, keeping all of your favorites, cookies, form history and saved passwords intact. Download the installation in the file from Microsoft and then run program on your computer.
The old version of IE8, is not needed, so simply uninstall IE8 from your computer. Update your Internet Explorer from Microsoft and then if you are using Windows 7, subscribe to windows update. Go to the start menu and click the control panel. Select the windows update option and automatically update your IE9 regularly on your computer.
I also want to upgrade my IE. I appreciate your effort, Esther Clever for posting on how to update IE. Thanks
