Updated laptop to windows 8- dvd writer no longer working

Dear All, 

I recently updated my sony Vaio laptop to the latest Windows 8 Pro and i am very satisfied with it. I just noticed that when i tried to burn a dvd, the burner is no longer working properly. When i checked windows device manager, i was told that the driver in place was the latest available. I also tried to use third party softwares such as imgburn but the result seems to be the same. Can i please can a hint ?

Updated laptop to windows 8- dvd writer no longer working

Before you upgraded your OS, did you read the compatibility of the new OS with the current DVD player? Did you ever come across for information related to this? These are some options that you may try, to resolve your DVD issues. First option is to uninstall your DVD device and reinstall it afterwards. Second option is to inquire for the compatibility of your new OS from the manufacturer.
