Upgradation issue of Lion through External Hard Drive

I am upgrading my Lion but I could not find the Iomega external hard drive then need to set up Lion and back it up and plug in the lomega hard drive but the notification appears that the "Time Machine did not accomplish the back-up" and "the back-up disc is nonexistent" any objective? Is there someone could make it?

Upgradation issue of Lion through External Hard Drive

So the setup application that you want to use is located on the hard drive, and you cannot be able to access the hard drive, right? I guess the problem here is with the USB cable that you are using to connect the external hard drive to the computer. It may be faulty and therefore hindering the computer to detect the hard drive. You will therefore need to get another cable so that you can access the hard drive.

If it is not the cable then it could be because of the following:

• The external hard drive port is faulty.
• The USB port on the computer is faulty.

You will need to troubleshoot and determine where the problem is so that you can be able to connect the hard drive successfully to the computer.
