Upgrade FileMaker Pro 5.0 to 6.0

What I have in my computer is a FileMaker Pro 5.0. I want to upgrade it to 6.0. May I know what’s new to FileMaker Pro 6? Thanks!

Upgrade FileMaker Pro 5.0 to 6.0

The FileMaker Pro 6 version was released in 2002 and brought import features that allow exchange of data with other applications and support for multimedia files, XML files and you could import an entire folder with files without repeating for each file.

With Pro 6, you can digitally capture images, is more time-saving than Pro 5.0/5.5. Support for both Macintosh and Windows.

The latest FileMaker version is FileMaker Pro 12 with numerous newer features and capabilities including themes, streamlined charting, redesigned user interface, a quick start screen among others. It would be better to download and install FileMaker Pro 12 than Pro 6 if you have an up-to-date system.

Upgrade FileMaker Pro 5.0 to 6.0

Hello Naomi,

 

After you run the associated updater, it will install the necessary files to slip in the latest functionality and fixes. It will update your original Software and will make fresh applications.

The updater will formulate necessary changes to FileMaker Pro that could be interpret as inappropriate activity by anti-virus functionalities. To guarantee a free-error installation, stop all virus detection software before concern the update, and re-enable it once you are finished.

The FileMaker Pro 6 Updater needs admission to the FileMaker Pro 5 CD or your network installation location throughout the update procedure.

1. 5 MB of free space on your Hard Drive disk is required in initiating the update.
2. Close FileMaker Pro 5.
3. Twice-click to the FileMaker Pro 6.0v2 Updater.
4. Read and admit the displayed license agreement, then proceed as going.
5. To update the FileMaker Pro version 5 to FileMaker 6,click the “install” button.
