Upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign

Hi Experts,

I tried to open InDesign CS5.5 document with InDesign CS5. But I received an error message indicating that “Cannot open ‘IDCS55.indd”. It also suggests that “Please upgrade your plug-ins to their latest versions, or upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign”.

If you have any idea regarding this issue please help me.

Upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign

This means that you need to update your InDesign Cs5 to its latest version. But in order to do this, you need to first find out which plug-in is outdated because plug-ins add to the functionality of a specific application they also expand the range of files, applications or document formats that web browsers can display so it is essential that you update them every now and then.

Upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign

You can’t open a previous version file to the latest InDesign directly. But if you want to do this, you need to do two steps.

1.     Choose File and Export in InDesign CS5.5 to save the file in IDML format.

2.     Update InDesign CS5 with special add-on that let it open the IDML file

The receiver of the file which is the CS5 should have the latest updates of the particular Adobe InDesign. You can download its updates free:
