Hello

The last version of Office 2010 was discharged to TechNet as well as MSDN subscribers in yesterday.

But when I attempted to upgrade my main Windows 7 virtual device on my Mac I found an error message complaining that I had used the beta version:

Setup Errors

Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s):
Microsoft Office 2010 does not support upgrading from a prerelease version of
Microsoft Office 2010. You must first uninstall any prerelease version of
Microsoft Office 2010product and associated technologies.
Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup.

                                                                                   OK

What is the reason of this? Please help.

Thanks.

Hello Cunningham,

You may be trying to upgrade using a different version of Microsoft Office contrary to the one that you already have on your computer and as a result getting that issue. To resolve the issue therefore you will need to do the following:

  • Go to the control panel and then under Add/Remove programs, check out the version of MS Office that you have currently installed on your computer.
  • You will need to ensure that the upgrade that you're using is compatible to the version you have on your computer. For instance, if what you have on your computer is MS Office Professional Plus, you will need to have the same version of office to do the upgrade.

Regards,

Carl
