Hello Experts,
I have a HP G6000 notebook that works well except when I try to connect a USB mouse device to it, it does not install. The setting up starts as normal but ends up saying that the device has not been installed successfully. Only one wireless USB mouse that I installed works ok.
I have tried running Linux mint from a USB stick and all the mice work fine, there this rules out the hardware as the issue. I think an .inf file could be corrupted but I don’t know which one. Surprisingly, the touch pad device performs ok and also the USB ports for any other device that is plugged in.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
USB Mouse Not Working on notebook
Hi,
I think your problem is related to recognizing the drivers of the USB device, some USB devices will not automatically recognized by the operating system. Sometimes you should install first the software drivers before it will work fine. Or maybe you should restart your computer first after inserted the USB mouse device, sometimes that is the common problem when we are using new mouse device.
Thank you.

Hello,
1. You can search the model of the mouse in the internet and if there is any driver file then you can download that.
2. You can restore your system and that will help.
3. You can go to the mouse function and you can repair that.
So, thank you for asking the question and i think that will solve your problem.

The problem might be that you did not authorize the support for the USB mouse…
