USB3 Work On External HD USB2?

I really hope someone can answer this for me. But can I use a USB3 powered ext HDD work on USB2. Will this cause any system problems? If a USB3 powered external HD be able to function properly if it's plugged into a USB2 port? Will there be enough power to support this?

USB3 Work On External HD USB2?

All USB 3.0 devices work well with USB 2.0 Port. Except the Data transaction speed becomes low. Usually, devices which take power from USB port doesn't differentiate between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. You can check your PC if it has a USB 3.0 port. And its driver software. You cannot convert a USB 2.0 port into a 3.0 port. But, the vice versa can be done.
