USe of mobile to unlock Car door

Yesterday I forgot to bring my car key and it made me think of an idea. I have a fairly recent car and most of the locking and on-board mechanics is based on an integrated computer. I was wondering if it is possible to use my mobile phone to unlock my car. What would be necessary?

USe of mobile to unlock Car door

Now a days cell phones are used for many non communication purposes like playing games on TV instead of using video game remote. It also provides remote control to you for your TV. 

 

You can also start, off, locate your car by using a cell phone.

 

You can also unlock car doors if you forget your keys inside. For this you need a compatible hardware installed in

your car. In most of the car this system is built in.

 

For example viper provide a system called SmartStart. Any car with this system can be controlled from a cell phone.  

 

You also need a remote control app in your smartphone. 

 

Different cars have different operating systems. Keep it in mind.
