Hello everyone, I got Microsoft Windows Essential in my system, but I am unable to find what it is just used. I was planning to remove it from my system, but before that could help anyone, please explain me the use of this.

Use Of Microsoft Windows Essential And Features

MSE or Microsoft Security Essentials is Microsoft’s own antivirus. It is not like the other programs bundled with the operating system that doesn’t have use and just comes as bloatware. Microsoft Security Essentials is the antivirus developed by Microsoft for the Microsoft Windows operating system. Microsoft Security Essentials ran on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 but not on Windows 8 and higher prior to version 4.5.

Microsoft Security Essentials 4.5 and higher don’t run on Windows XP. When a problem or threat is detected, Microsoft Security Essentials automatically blocks it and alerts the user. You can also use it to manually scan your computer. Microsoft Security Essentials is free for home users and for small businesses with up to 10 computers.
