Missing User Profile and Data on Windows 7
Try Restoring system to an earlier date.
You may also boot into Windows safe mode. I've tried it many times with my computer and my friends it happen where an Admin accounts have a corrupted data files.
System restore is one of the quickest and easiest solutions to recover your lost profile and data. Using this solution is safe as well because it won’t undo any system changes that might affect your user files (emails, photos, videos, documents, etc.).
The way system restore works in Windows 7 is that it uses a featured named “System Protection” to create new restore points constantly on your computer. In these restore points, critical information about your system is recorded, such as registry settings, so that when you perform a system restore you don’t lose important data.
Hope this will help.
Missing User Profile and Data on Windows 7
Has the user profile been deleted? The specific files that you're looking for, were those saved in My Documents, Desktop and other folders specific to the user account? If this is the case, then you might not be able to retrieve the data back. You can try to use data recovery software though to try and retrieve the files. As long as the blocks on your hard drive where the bits were saved back then have not been overwritten, it should be fairly easy for a data recovery application to scan your hard drive and tell you which data it can recover.
Missing User Profile and Data on Windows 7
Hello Shahara,
The files could be lost as a result of a virus attack or they could just be hidden. Before you try recovering the files using a recovering tool, I will advise that you first try to unhide all hidden files on your computer by going to the control panel and then choosing the folder options. In the window that opens choose the 'show all folders option to unhide any hidden files.
If that does not recover your files, then I will suggest that you use the recover my file application which you can download for free from the internet. Just install it on your computer and recover the files from the partition of the hard drive that you had stored the files.
Hope this helps.
