My Internet service provider has been ridiculously slow recently. I have a back up ISP that connects through my USB. It’s a HSDPA modem. Will I be able to use them simultaneously, to achieve a faster Internet connection?
If it’s possible, please teach me how.
Using 2 ISPs for my internet connection
Computer is capable of connecting multiple devices, LAN for modem and USB for HSDPA modem. It's Ok and it is possible to connect these 2 devices at the same time. However, this will not boost up the speed because this doesn't add up all the speed provisioned on both equipment. But this helps Internet connection from experiencing intermittent because when 1 equipment is down, you still have a back-up ISP to take the action.
This does not guarantee faster Internet access nor guarantee less interruptions because computer may encounter IP address conflicts. The easiest solution is to call your Internet Service Provider and let them reset your modem to refresh the connection. You can also ran a speed test to check what Internet speed you are getting and compare to the speed you subscribed. 80% of the speed is OK and consider with-in the minimum speed provisioned but lower than is not acceptable.
Upgrade your service plan to a much faster speed is THE BEST SOLUTION for slow speed.
