AutoCAD licensing error: My network license manager is not running in receiving an official license? Why is this?

Hi there Leonard T Mack,

 

The error you're getting appears due to a connection problem and the timeout while waiting for the server to respond.

 

When you are starting the software it has to go and look for the license information on the server and if it cannot reach the server due to any reason it results in the error you're getting. Mostly it is because of a bad and slow internet connection or when you are using the VPN.

 

To resolve the issue you have either increase the bandwidth or the timeout property of the software so it can wait a bit longer for server to response to your request.

 

To do so, right click on the My Computer icon and choose Properties. In the System Properties choose Advanced options –  Environment, and then System. You will get a new dialog box and click the 'New' button. Name for the new user is:  FLEXLM_TIMEOUT and value is 10000000. Click Ok to confirm the changes.
