Hello Guys,

I am currently editing my videos using Sony Vegas  Pro 9  and about to render it with Xvid file.

I am trying to download a compatible video codec for it because it gives me an error.

I have searched in the internet  unfortunately I couldn't find the right one.

Any help please?

Vegas Pro 9.0

An error occurred while creating the media file

No compatible video codec was found.

A video file that has a .avi extension has only 2 video codecs to use, DivX and Xvid. There is no problem if you cannot save your video using the Xvid codec. Just continue with editing your video then save it using the available codec of your program. After saving the video, convert the file into .avi using Xvid codec with Total Video Converter which can be downloaded here: http://www.effectmatrix.com/.

Every video editing software has its own set of codecs to use in creating videos. You cannot just add a codec into it if you want to use a specific codec. They program every codec to be compatible with the software. If you want to use a codec such as Xvid, find a version that supports this codec.

Download the Combined Community Codec Pack and install it on your computer, it has a lot of video format support and codec perfect for your Sony Vegas video rendering. It also has a Media Player Classic that can play many different video file formats and other audio format as well. Make this the priority solution first it worked fine with me.

Also you try and download DivX and install it, it is perfect for creating video rendering file such as AVI or Xvid AVI or something like that. It depends on what file format you are using.

Both of this is free anyway so you don't have to worry.
