I installed Adobe AIR on my MAC OS X machine. I wanted to upgrade it, with the latest updates, but somehow that was not successful. Whenever I tried to open the application I was getting an error message. So I decided to uninstall the application and reinstall it back again.

Now I am getting an error message whenever, I try to uninstall the application. Below given is a screen shot of the error message.

Adobe AIR

This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.

Please download the latest version of the runtime from

https://get.adobe.com/air/

or contact the application author for an updated version.

I want to uninstall it, so I can install a latest version. Can someone help me with the same?

Mac OS X has no “Add and Remove” feature unlike Windows. You can  uninstall your application by using command removal or manual removal . By using command removal, in the terminal on your Mac OS you can easily run the following command:

“/Adobe AIR Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe AIR Installer -uninstall”

You can also  manually remove your Adobe Air, by  opening finder and look for the specific Adobe Air folder. Then select the + button under the search description, to increase criteria. Click “Other…”  then choose “System  files” and delete the Adobe Air folder. If you receive any error  while erasing the folder, completely erase the internal folders that relate to Adobe Air  and then try to remove Adobe  Air again.

Re-boot or restart your computer, to completely uninstall your Adobe Air  application.

After  restarting  install the newest version.

The following method might solve the error:

1. Go to the path /Users/x/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/

2. Delete the file named "AirKeysInputManager.bundle". This file might have been corrupted by a badly installed Safari extension.
3. On the same path, delete also the file named "SizeWell.bundle". Deleting this file may not need the re-installation of Adobe Air application.

Note that other Adobe Air applications might be suffering the same symptoms, so these procedures may serve the same purpose.
