Virtual Disk Manager shows I/O error

Hi,

I have got the following error message when Trying to back up files to external hard drive saying “The request could not be performed because of an I/O error”. I searched for the solution but I need your suggestion to fix this problem.

Virtual Disk Manager shows I/O error

Hi Eric,
I/O errors are usually due to a drive that has not yet been activated or hasn’t been formatted.
So what you should do the following: Plug in the external drive then go to where it is located on your computer. Select drive then right click on it. Choose activate, when done right click and choose format.
This should get rid of the error
