Vista upgrade hangs at 62%
This problem normally occurs when the Iphlpsvc service stops responding during the upgrade although other services may also cause a problem in which the upgrade process stops responding. To fix this problem, follow the following steps.
-
Restart your laptop. Your computer will roll back to Windows vista.
-
On the start menu, right click computer and then click properties.
-
On the advanced tab, click environment variables.
-
Under system variables, click new.
-
Type MIG_UPGRADE_IGNORE_PLUGINS in the variable name field.
-
Type IphlpsvcMigPlugin.dll in the variable name field.
-
Click OK on the three open windows.
-
You can now start the windows 7 upgrade process.

It is one of the problem in the new PC.  If you want to install  Windows 7, then you have to have a high processor computer. I think your computer meets the requirement.  To install follow these steps:
-
Restart your laptop. Your computer will roll back to Windows Vista.
-
On the start menu, right click computer and then click properties.
-
On the advanced tab, click environment variables.
-
Under system variables, click new.
-
Click OK on the three open windows.
-
You can now start the windows 7 upgrade process, then you can get the full install windows 7 XP.
