Thanks !

VLC can’t recognize the input’s format:

The formate of

‘file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Marion%20Lewise/Desktop/Test.mov’cannot be dedected.

Have a look at the log for details.

“.mov” files or MOV files are QuickTime files and are best played using the QuickTime player. Though it is a QuickTime file, VLC media player has include support for the file and is capable of playing any MOV files. If you are successful in playing other video formats but not the MOV file, you may not be using the latest version of VLC media player.

The latest version until now, January 2014 as I check my own version, is VLC media player 2.1.2 Rincewind. If you don’t have this version, download and upgrade to the latest version from Download VLC media player. Another possible reason why you encounter this error is a damaged or broken file. A video file, even if it is working before, when it get damaged will become unreadable and unrecognizable by video players and converters.

You can verify if the MOV file you have is not damaged after upgrading to the latest version of VLC media player. Once you installed the latest version of VLC, try playing the file again. If the same error appears, you are positive the file is broken. In case you are still hoping the file is not broken, you can download and install QuickTime and play the file from there. If it works then it’s good but if not then you can delete the file.

You can change the way VLC shows you Video:

Go to Tools > Preferences > Video and in the Display section, Try another Output.
