Hello experts!
I am getting the following error message when I am trying to install the new version of VLC. Anyone else seeing this?
Error:
VLC media player 1.1.1 Setup   Â
   Â
Error opening file for writing:Â Â Â Â
   Â
C:Program FilesVideoLanVLCvlc.exe   Â
   Â
Click Abort to stop the installation,   Â
Retry to try again, or   Â
Ignore to skip this file.
I cannot come up with an idea why this error came out. But if this may help, the error came out after I downloaded VLC four times.
Please help me. Thanks a lot!
VLC Media Player 1.1.1 Error opening file for writing
Hello brother you can over come this problem by the following steps
Go to windows task manager find vlc.exe and end the process. If you don't know how to go to task manager press ctrl+alt+delete. In windows vista after pressing ctrl+alt+delete click start task manager. After you have opened task manager go to the processes tab and find vlc.exe and click end process. After doing this you won't have any problems installing vlc media player
Thanks,

VLC Media Player 1.1.1 Error opening file for writing
Â
First uninstall your  previous version of VLC, if you have any because if you won't uninstall some of files will remain in the directory(C:Program FilesVideoLan) where you have your previous version loaded and will get conflict with the latest version. Even Ccleaner will not delete those files. But regedit can do that, then reboot your system.
Â
Please run regedit and cleaned all VLC and Videolan associations, reboot the system and  again download VLC then it will get install perfectly.
Â
Hope this will resolve your issue.
