Why vlc media player is not storing all my recent opened media ? It was showing very old items, even on my brothers and cousins computer. So it is not a problem with my computer.

Hi, 

It's not any difficult problem. Just do the following and get solved: 

1. Open your VLC player

2. From Menu Bar click on "Tools"

3. From Dropdown Menu choose "Performances" and click on it

4. Now you are on a page, select "Interface"

5. Just click the box below by which " Save recently played items" is written

6. Click on "Save" button

Now enjoy the option.

Dear User,

It would appear that this problem can be seen mostly with the earlier versions of VLC media player

So my first solution is to update your Media player to the latest.

If possible uninstall the current version and reinstall it.

And also if you don’t see any recent files at all you can turn it on by going to tools > Performance and interface. 

And you can enable Save recent played items from there
