I have updated my vlc player recently. I am having a problem that when I play a High Defination video and press ALT + Enter for full screen, the screen starts fainting and does not play smoothly. But when the video is not full screened it playing fine. Anyone knows please help.
VLC player does not playing HD videos smoothly
It could be a problem either with your graphics adapter or your display monitor. When playing a high definition movie on the computer, you should have an HD compatible monitor so the images can be displayed smoothly. Also, your video card should be capable of rendering HD quality videos. If your graphics adapter doesn’t support HD, the video will be rendered in a sluggish way.
You may notice a sluggish playback of the movie or maybe if the video renders well in window mode, it will become very slow when switching to full screen. Also, check the amount of video RAM that your graphics adapter supports. Video cards with higher video RAM should be fine when rendering HD movies.
I also have HD videos on my computer and I experience this a lot. You can’t fix this unless you purchase a new device like purchasing a new graphics adapter or using an HD compatible monitor. The video is in HD format so there’s not much you can do to configure it.
If you haven’t updated yet, install the latest version. Visit VLC media player to download the latest release.
