VS error while installing The system cannot find the file specified
Hi there, Philipp here.
This error you have can only be caused by a faulty connection with the map drive. This usually occurs if the connection is either full on capacity or can no longer process your own query. The error indicates that it cannot retrieve the file in the mapped drive, although it can see it.
This can only mean that something is wrong with the connection of the mapped drive to your computer.
Please make sure that your map drive is properly configured to avoid this error in the future. There is also the possibility that the map drive is busy.
What you can do in such a situation is to try again in a bit, while refreshing the map drive.
VS error while installing The system cannot find the file specified
The setup failed to initialize the installation process because the procedure is being launched over the network where the source is located in one of the mapped drives in the network. To have a more successful installation, copy all of the installation files of Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 from the mapped drive to your local drive. To start the installation again, launch the procedure by double clicking on the setup.exe and not with the Autorun file.
The Autorun launcher is created to launch the setup process from a CD/DVD-ROM drive. You can still start the setup using the Autorun file in any drive but it doesn’t always work successfully because they are pre-programmed to search for the installation files in a specific path.
To fix your problem in installing Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0, copy all of the installation files to your local hard drive and then start the installation again.
