Hi,
I have a questions regarding about the new power supplies unit (PSU) being sold in the market today. Most of the time I saw some labels that has 80+ efficiency. So my question is, how does power supplies would run efficient or let's just say how can I save some electricity bills with this 80+ PSU.
Thanks.
What is 80+ Power Supply Ratings
Hello Boom,
80 plus or + is a step forward for saving electricity load as it aims to boosts up the computer power supply units. It works on products required even more than 80% of certified load and cuts off the extra electricity units required as heat at a specific load and works also on power factors of 0.9 or more at 100% load.
So thus it gives electric consumption required a cut off and also saving of electricity requirements with also reducing your bills so this advanced technology is a useful one to use and getting maximum benefit out of it with ease.
Thanks.

What is 80+ Power Supply Ratings
Hi Boom,
80 PLUS is an initiative to promote energy efficiency in computer power supply units (PSU). It certifies products that have more than 80% energy efficiency at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load, and a power factor of 0.9 or greater at 100% load.
That is, PSU that waste 20% or less electric energy as heat at the specified load levels, thus reducing electricity use and bills compared to less efficient PSU. This means it save electricity consumption of computer by alteast 20%.
