Hi techyv,

What is all about avg file encryption software? I have an avg antivirus and it was working properly, it gives me the proper security that a computer operating system needs. It updated and scans my registry regularly. But I heard about avg file encryption software, what is this for and its purpose?

Hi Ava,

A file encryption software is a program that encodes a file in a certain format so that it will not be accessed by those not authorized to view it.

Now, to answer your question, AVG has not launched anything called "AVG File Encryption Software" yet. However, an encryption system is incorporated with some of AVG's existing programs to protect users from intruders, identity theft, etc. Such are AVG Mobilation Anti-Virus 2012 and AVG LiveKive.

AVG Mobilation Anti-Virus 2012 is a program for android phones that has a built-in basic encryption system which allows users to prevent unauthorized access to certain programs on their phones.

AVG LiveKive, on the other hand is an online backup system which allows users to backup their whole computer into an online server which they can access through the internet. It is equipped with a military-grade encryption system that protects files from unauthorized access.
