What is an animated image in Microsoft power point?

Dear Jordan,

Animated image is an image with special visual or sound effect. For example you can you can have your bullets fly in from one side to another, or hear sounds when you go to a particular slide and much more. The main objective of animated image is to have a movement which increases viewer interest in the presentation.

You can use the built in animation effects or you can customize your own effects. Select the object or text that you want to animate and apply either the built in animations or customize your own.
