What is the best download manager for ubuntu ?

Hi,

I'm having this problem from long time. I need a perfect download manager like IDM but I can't find any. I tried running IDM with wine but failed, and then I tried some download managers that comes as Firefox addons but they can't be compared with IDM. So is there anyway to run IDM on Ubuntu or is there any alternative download manager?

What is the best download manager for ubuntu ?

I also agree with you and think that IDM is one of the best downloader. Though it has some limitation like all other software’s has. Besides IDM we also have some particular software for download Ubuntu. Its really difficult to say which is the best one. All are perfect in there own category. Software’s like:

1. 1. Wget
2. 2. Aria
3. 3. Curl
4. 4. Downloader for  x
5. 5. Gwget
6. 6. Kde kget

Etc can download perfectly Ubuntu’s different type of versions.

We also cannot forget about Mozilla Firefox’s default downloader. It also has some good download quality for this. We can also use it to download Ubuntu.

here are some downloader and the features

1. wget  can download recursively

2. aria2c can split downloads

3. sothink web video downloader can download video from youtube and other video websites
