What is the best LAN flood detection program?

We need to install LAN flood detection software soon. Our network has been getting attacks and it is too much we can handle. We need an early detection program while we are still redesigning our network. Please recommend good software.

What is the best LAN flood detection program?

You can shut all unused switch ports in you network to avoid such attacks in future. Talking about the software Wire shark is a good tool using which you can sniff all the incoming as well as outing traffic with all its details like source ip address, destination ip address, source or destination ports, etc.

But it must be kept in mind that using such sniffing tools can affect network performance.
