What is Blu-ray Disk, DVD movies & Blu-ray movies

Hello,

Blu-ray is the newest technology of the optical disk. Blu-ray disk comes with single layer and dual layer option. It is the newest technology of the storage media.

Usual DVDs can only store data up to 5GB and Single layer Blu-ray disk can store data up to 20-25GB and dual layer Blu-ray disk can store data up to 45-55 GB.

Blu-Ray disks can be used for record high-definition video and large volume of data.

Blu-ray movies are more quality than the normal DVD movies. However Blu-ray movies take more space than the DVD movies and normal DVD ROMs and players can’t read new Blu-ray disk.

Hi Peter Jackson,

Blu-Ray Disk is a storage medium which is a new technology in Optical Disks. The dimensions of Blu-ray disk is 120mm in diameter and 1.2 mm thick,the same size as DVD’s and CDs.There are different types of layers in Blu-ray Disks

Single Layer: It can store upto 25GB data

Dual Layer: It can Store upto 50GB Data

Triple Layer (100GB) and quadruple layer upto 128GB are available.

The Difference Between Blu-ray Movies and DVD movies are:

1. The clarity in sound and video of Blu-ray movie is high compared to DVD movies.

2. Blu-Ray movies takes more space compared to DVD Movies.
