I want to know the difference between GSM and CDMA sims and which is one better for use in India. Is there any limitations as to which handsets must be used for GSM or CDMA?
Can a single phone be used to work with both GSM and CDMA sims. Also which one is better in terms of quality and cost?

What is the difference between GSM and CDMA?
Hello,
GSM and CDMA both are being used worldwide. The GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) is the most profited method and popular, too. The CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) is also a good one but not used as popular as GSM is.
GSM allows users to put the user’s information on a SIM card, which can be easily inserted on any phone. Every phone runs with this SIM, giving more facilities which can be used to provide more flexibility and better user experience. On the other hand, CDMA has got some shortage in features and not available all over the world, only in few regions, for example, in USA. CDMA also requires especial R-SIM which isn’t available all over the world and not so popular, too. This type of SIM isn’t so flexible like normal GSM SIM, where GSM SIM can be easily used to swap, upgrade, change, interchange and much more.
Speed is almost near, but CDMA is a little bit faster than GSM.
In the case of popularity and features, GSM wins. So I recommend GSM SIM. If a phone will be customized to be R-SIM compatible, GSM SIM can no longer work on that phone.
