What is the difference between Software RAID & Hardware RAID?
Hi Gomeg Henry,
Well, Software RAID is much cheaper than Hardware RAID but Hardware RAID is more reliable than Software RAID. There is a required specialized hardware in Hardware RAID to be able to handle the drives. On the other hand, Software RAID takes portion in host processor. We should all know that Hardware Raid always controls disc in which you can cable up the disc drives.
Software RAID does not required additional hardware. For me, the best options is Hardware RAID because it is less complicated in running the system and it has specialized features to be able for your system performance to be more useful or effective. Software RAID has more complication in running the system because it needs more power processor cycles. So if I were you, I will choose Hardware RAID.
