What effects will leap server has on Ubuntu server with Network Time Protocol daemon (NTPd)? Now that Linux is planning of adding leap seconds to its server in coming months, what are the implications for Linux server? How best can user prepare for this anticipated addition? How worried should user of NTPd be?

What effects will leap second has on Linux server?

Hi, Tyrone!

 Leap seconds are a big issue that can not easily be corrected. It can cause major issues to the Linux operating system, Its minimal issue is crashing. Computer experts are working on preventing it and protecting applications when leap second is happening. It might still needs time for Linux to overcome this matter.
