Please help. My MacBook was recently attacked by a virus. Avast detected the Flashback virus but could not delete it. What is the fastest Mac virus protection that can eliminate the threat? I have a MacBook Pro that is on OSx Mountain Lion.

I recommend you to use "Sophos Antivirus". I had read many reviews about this software and this is perfect for Mac OS. Sophos scans all your files and eliminate those malicious files before it launch. And deleting threat that can found or putting them into quarantine. Anyway, it can be downloaded for free. Software is elegant and no hustle to use. And you can easily remove this if you want. Here are some screenshots of "Sophos Antivirus"
