What is a search engine bot? Are they the same as search engine spiders or crawlers? What do these actually do? What is the information that search engine bots gather? How do they use this information to determine page ranks? How can i maximize the frequency of these robots visiting my web pages?

What is the function of a search engine bot?

The search engine bots are the seekers of web content of individual web pages present on the internet. The terms search engines bots, spiders and crawlers have all similar meaning. These bots makes your webpage index the internet. They come to your webpage and discern the information which is present over there and checks the relevancy of that information and adds that data to it index. If these bots does their job properly, then search engine will have good search results and valuable database. If you make a new webpage, these bots will automatically come to your webpage. To maximize more traffic to your webpage, and to appear in the first page of search results, Search Engine Optimization(SEO) is required.
