What is the importance of paradox 7 driver forum?

 

The Paradox database driver works in one of 2 modes. The first mode is when any of the following applications are installed:

• Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 5 or later
• Borland Database Engine [BDE]

The second mode is when neither of the above programs is installed. Paradox data is only updateable when Jet 4.0 Service Pack 5 or later version or the Borland Database Engine is installed. Without Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 5 or later version or Borland Database Engine, Paradox data can be read, imported and exported, or linked to as read-only. When using Borland Database Engine, you might encounter some incompatibility problems with some versions and the symptoms or signs differ.
