Being a long term Windows user, I wanted to explore the world of Linux Operating Systems. A little research led me to believe that there are multiple versions of sorts available for Linux OS. Can you explain what these are and what option to select of beginners?

What Is The Best Linux Distro

The different versions of Linux you saw are called Linux Distributions often shortened by professionals to Linux Distros. As you might know, Linux is open source. Therefore, different parts of the operating system are coded by different people and communities at different locations.

A Linux Distro is nothing but a combination of the collection of all available components in the open source community. This means that a Linux Distro collects all the components required for the operating system, compiles them and then compiles them and distributes them as a single unit. Thus, they are called distros.
