What Is The Domain Name And What Is It Used For

In technical language, the term domain name usage is from primary level and is a very primary question. Anyhow, what is the domain name? It is used to represent and identify single or more than one IP (Internet Protocol) addresses.

It is most commonly applicable in URLs to search an exact Web page, for example, Google.com, Wikipedia.com, etc. It consists of a suffix that is known as the top-level domain, abbreviated as TLD. But, there are very limited amount of such domains like org, com, ed, net and much more that stands for organizations (nonprofit), commercial business, educational institutions, network organizations respectively.
