I am using my windows-7 pc for so long. When I am trying to update my app, which I am running for a long time, it showed windows-7 update error 80246007. There is no much description about the error. It just says that the update fails. What to do now?
What Is Windows 7 Update Error 80246007?
When you try to update your windows, your antivirus can also cause the error. Disable the antivirus and delete it. Disable the windows defender also in the system. You can try by troubleshooting windows update components. You can try by rebooting your internet connection. Missing windows system files will also create a problem. Run system file checker and change the corrupted files. You can also try by deleting the temporary files and restarting them. Restart the background intelligent transfer service. You need admin privileges.
What Is Windows 7 Update Error 80246007?
If you receive error code “80246007” when trying to install or check for a Windows Update, here’s how to fix it. Press the Windows key + R to bring up the “Run” dialog then type without quotes “regedit” then hit Enter. In the “Registry Editor” window, navigate to the following location:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
Next, right-click “User Shell Folders” then select “Export” and then save it as backup. On the right, check and verify that “AppData” has the following correct value:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
If the value is different, double-click it and enter the correct value. When you are finished, exit the Registry Editor then try Windows Update again. For users with “Common AppData” instead of “AppData” and the value is “%ProgramData%”, just add without quotes “\AppData\Roaming” at the end of the value, like this:
%ProgramData%\AppData\Roaming
