What is a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)?
Hello,
A MAN is larger than a LAN but smaller than or the same in size to a WAN.
Think of it as the size of a city or college campus network, which can range anywhere from 5 to 50km in diameter.
MANs are typically owned and managed by a single entity.
This could be an ISP or telecommunications company that sells its services to end-users in that metropolitan area.
A MAN has the same features as a WAN with distance constraints.

What is a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)?
Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) is an outsized computer network that covers a whole city or a big campus. This is similar to LAN or Local Area Network but it usually joins the number of LANs with a use of a soaring volume backbone technology like a fiber-optical links. It also present up-links to WAN and Internet. This connects the networks on one city to become a single larger network.
