If you want to use Eclipse on your computer, make sure that your machine’s specifications meet the technical requirements of the program. The application should be 100% compatible with your operating system for the installation to be successful and for you to be able to use it after the installation. If the program requires other components to be installed then you need to install them first before proceeding on the actual installation of the program.

You should also apply important product patches if they are required and available for the program to work more efficiently.

No one really can tell the version of Eclipse that is best for you since it all depends on your needs and the specifications or capacity of your computer. Eclipse is a multi-language IDE or Integrated Development Environment that contains a main workspace with an extensible system for plug-ins for environment customization.

Most of its coding is written in Java that’s why it can be used to create programs in Java using a variety of plug-ins. It began as a project in IBM Canada and a consortium was developed in November of 2001 to continue the development of Eclipse as open-source software.

Eclipse is available in Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. If you are running Microsoft Windows on your computer, you need to select between 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
