What is a topology and what are the categories of topology?
Â
Hello,
Topology is a physical layout of the network. It describes relationship between all the devices on the network.
Main categories of topology
1.  Mesh Topology
Every device connected to each other through dedicated link.
2.  Star Topology
Each device connected to a central device usually called a hub.
3.  Bus Topology
Each and every device is connected to the one long cable.
4.  Ring Topology
Thank You
John Major.

Hi Dear
Thanks For your question. I am trying to solve your question.
The way in which the network of computers is connected is called topology. Â Advantages and disadvantages would be different with each topology.
There are mainly four types of topologies
1 .Bus Topology
2. Ring Topology
3. Star Topology
4 .Fddi Topology
All topologies are supported by most of the networking software.
What is a topology and what are the categories of topology?
Hi dear,
Topologies refer a shape of a network on the networks layout. It is the physical configuration of wires of your connection. There are various topologies to do this.
1.  Mesh topology
2.  Bus topology
3.  Star topology
4.  Ring topology
5.  Tree topology
6.  Hybrid topology
7.  Irregular topology
Special things are last three topologies. Number five is topology group of star topology and bus or backbone. Star network connect to other ones. Number 6 means combination of two or more basic topologies. If there is star network connect to other star network is not this kind of topology. Last one has not a basic structure in the network. It is irregular method. Â

Hi Dear,
Thanks For sharing your problem with us i hope i WILL satisfy you.
Topology is The Physical Layout or Design of Network Layout.
Or the method of attaching all network clients with one another or with a central point HUB.
These are LAN Topologies…
1. Star Network
2. Ring Network
3. Bus Network
3. Mesh Network
4. Tree Network
Thanks
