What types of network topologies are used in communication network?
Network Topology: Topology defines the physical or logical arrangement of links in a network.
Types of Network Topology:
1. Mesh Topology- Each connection can carry its own data thus eliminating the traffic problems.
2. Star Topology- Each device needs one link and one I/O port.
3. Tree Topology- Allows more devices to attach.
4. Bus Topology- Less cabling than star, mesh or tree.
5. Ring Topology- Relatively easy installation and reconfiguration.
Now I am going to write the advantages of network topology, although each topology has some special features.
1. Peer-to-peer: Devices share the links equally.
2. Primary-Secondary: One device control traffic and others must transmit through links.
Hope this will help you.
Thanks.
What types of network topologies are used in communication network?
Topology is the shape of a network and the relationship between the nodes in that network. So in the network topology, it is the large part, what kinds of functions the network can perform and the quality of communication between the nodes. There are some types of topologies which are following.
Star topology:Â It offers simplicity of operations
Ring topology:Â The data transmitted between two nodes. Â
Mesh network: Transmit data from one to other. Â
Line topology:  Bus topology: It is easy to handle. Hybrid topology, Tree  topology.
