What is the use of the MS – Office 2007 compatibility pack.

I need to understand the use of MS – Office 2007 compatibility pack. How can I confirm whether it has been installed? What is the benefit if any, of the Office open XML file format? Please inform me on this.

What is the use of the MS – Office 2007 compatibility pack.

MS Office 2007 Compatibility Pack is like the add-in, it is useful for MS Office 2003 (Word, Excel, etc, may be work on lower version-Office2010 / Office97, I've never tested yet) to open any office files created in Office 2007, may be above version (v2010, I've never tested yet either).

What is the use of the MS – Office 2007 compatibility pack.

MS-office 2007 compatibility pack help you if you save office files from office 2007 or 2010 and need to open it in office 2003 and for XML format program will not help in this format file, you can confirm it by look on the new programs in start menu

What is the use of the MS – Office 2007 compatibility pack.

Microsoft office 2007 compatibility pack allows users to open, edit and save files created using formats of new versions of word, excel and power-point. This means that users of different ms-office applications can exchange documents easily.

Point your arrow to start and then click on all programs to confirm if this compatibility pack is installed.

BENEFITS OF OFFICE XML FORMAT

XML stands for extensible markup language. It is a format that is used to refer to files that are text based. Some of the benefits xml has include:

1. It allows compatibility of office applications enabling users to exchange files between these applications

2. Reduces security concerns that have been there. This is because data is stored in xml which is a plain text.

3. Improves data recovery by segmenting data and then storing each part separately within the file package.

At least now I have the idea about compatibily pack as well as the XML file format.I have checked my comp. pack installation based on your instruction and it was properly installed.
