Hello Thomas Maloy,

Web 2.0 refers to a set of techniques for web page design and execution. Some of these techniques have been around since the World Wide Web first launched, so it's impossible to separate We 1.0 to Web 2.0 in a timeline. The definition of Web 1.0 completely depends upon the definition of Web 2.0.

With that in mind Web 2.0 is a collection of approaches that are the most effective on the World Wide Web, then Web 1.0 includes everything else. As for what it means to be "effective," Tim O'Reilly says that it's providing users with an engaging experience so that they'll want to return to the web page in the future.

I hope it answered your question.

Good Day.

With Web 2.0, we not only use the Internet, we interact with it. Today social networking site that connects us with our family, friends and the whole world all work on web 2.0. Web 2.0 is about web applications that users can interact and control.

With this technology, Users with minimum programming knowledge can create their own web pages with their own content filled. In web 1.0 it was left in the hands of so called programming experts and webmasters to develop and maintain the site.

Web 2.0 uses Broadband connection and Web 1.0 used Dial ups.

Web 2.0 is mostly about community, interaction and social network whereas Web 1.0 was mainly focused on business.

User control can be voted the best difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0.
