What is a web epg service and how is it related in our technology nowadays, I was having some research yesterday about webpages, websites and much more and then it came up that is why I am curious what is a web epg service can render. Is it a software or hardware?

Web EPG or Electronic Program Guide is a software application which enables the users of television, radio and other media to be updated with the schedule information about the current program or upcoming programs. It's mostly deployed on TVs and other interactive media where the users need to be constantly updated by scheduling information. In today's world where lots of things change on-the-fly, updating about any changes in scheduling needs to be communicated. For that EPG comes into the picture.
